RenovaBio Legislation (English)

The available translations are intended to provide information to the international society about RenovaBio, without any legal effect. Only the versions published in the Official Gazette of the Union have legal effect.  

• ANP Resolution No. 984 of June 16, 2025 - Regulates the certification of efficient production or import of biofuels referred to in art. 18 of Law No. 13,576 of December 26, 2017, and the accreditation of verification bodies. 
• MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy) Ordinance No. 419 of November 20, 2019 - Establishes rules regarding the bookkeeping, registration, negotiation and retirement of Decarbonization Credits. 

• ANP Resolution No. 802 of December 5, 2019 - Provides for the procedures for generation of the guarantee necessary for primary issuance of Decarbonization Credits, referred to in art. 14 of Law No. 13,576 of December 26, 2017, and amends ANP Resolution No. 758 of November 23, 2018. 

• Decree No. 9,888 of June 27, 2019 - Provides for the definition of the annual mandatory targets of reduction in greenhouse gas emissions for commercialization of fuel under Law No. 13,576 of December 26, 2017, and creates the Committee of the Brazilian Biofuel Policy – RenovaBio Committee. 

• ANP Resolution No. 791 of June 12, 2019 - Provides for the individualization of the annual mandatory targets of reduction in emissions of greenhouse gases for commercialization of fuels, in the scope of the Brazilian Biofuel Policy (RenovaBio). 

• Law No. 13,576 of December 26, 2017 - Provides for the Brazilian Biofuel Policy (RenovaBio) and makes other provisions.
