face=Verdana size=2>Que la mayora de las Repblicas Americanas,
inspirada en elevados principios de justicia, ha concedido los derechos
polticos a la mujer;<O:P> </O:P></FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal><SPAN lang=ES style="mso-ansi-language: ES"><FONT
face=Verdana size=2>Que ha sido una aspiracin de la comunidad americana
equilibrar a hombres y mujeres en el goce y ejercicio de los derechos
polticos;<O:P> </O:P></FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoBodyTextIndent style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><FONT
face=Verdana size=2><SPAN lang=ES style="mso-ansi-language: ES">Que la
Resolucin XX<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>de la
Octava<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Conferencia
Internacional Americana expresamente declara:<O:P>

<P class=MsoNormal><SPAN lang=ES style="mso-ansi-language: ES"><FONT
face=Verdana size=2>Que la mujer tiene derecho a<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>igual<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>tratamiento poltico que el
hombre;<O:P> </O:P></FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal><SPAN lang=ES style="mso-ansi-language: ES"><FONT
face=Verdana size=2>Que la mujer de Amrica, mucho antes de reclamar sus
derechos, ha sabido cumplir noblemente todas sus responsabilidades como
compaera del hombre;<O:P> </O:P></FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal><SPAN lang=ES style="mso-ansi-language: ES"><FONT
face=Verdana size=2>Que el principio de igualdad de los derechos humanos
de hombres y mujeres est contenido en la Carta de las Naciones
Unidas;<O:P> </O:P></FONT></SPAN></P>

style="TEXT-TRANSFORM: uppercase; mso-ansi-language: ES">Han
resuelto</SPAN><SPAN lang=ES style="mso-ansi-language: ES">:<O:P>

<P class=MsoBodyTextIndent style="TEXT-ALIGN: justify"><FONT
face=Verdana size=2><SPAN lang=ES
style="mso-ansi-language: ES">Autorizar a sus respectivos
Representantes, cuyos Plenos Poderes han sido encontrados en buena y
debida forma, para suscribir los siguientes artculos:<O:P>
</O:P></SPAN></FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal><SPAN lang=ES style="mso-ansi-language: ES"><FONT
face=Verdana size=2>Artculo 1.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</SPAN>Las Altas Partes Contratantes convienen en que el derecho al voto
y a ser elegido para un cargo nacional no deber negarse o restringirse
por razones de sexo.<O:P> </O:P></FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal><SPAN lang=ES style="mso-ansi-language: ES"><FONT
face=Verdana size=2>Artculo 2.<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>La presente Convencin
queda abierta a la firma de los Estados Americanos y ser ratificada de
conformidad con sus respectivos procedimientos constitucionales. El
instrumento original, cuyos textos en espaol, francs, ingls y
portugus son igualmente autnticos, ser depositado en la Secretara
General de la Organizacin de los Estados Americanos, la cual enviar
copias certificadas a los Gobiernos para los fines de su ratificacin.
Los instrumentos de ratificacin sern depositados en la Secretara
General de la Organizacin de los Estados Americanos<SPAN
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>y sta notificar dicho deposito
a los Gobiernos signatarios. Tal notificacin valdr como canje de
ratificaciones. <O:P></O:P></FONT></SPAN></P>
