Minister Izabella Teixeira attends ceremony marking 30 years of CONAMA

The Minister of the Environment, Izabella Teixeira, today (August 31) opened the 103^rd meeting of the National Environmental Council (CONAMA), which celebrates its 30^th anniversary. The date refers to the enactment of Law nº 6,938, which established the National Environmental Policy.

The Policy has set instruments for environmental management and environmental impacts assessment. It was also responsible for structuring the National Environmental System (SISNAMA) and the creation of CONAMA.
