Adopt-a-Park
Adopt-a-Park is a program created by the Government of Brazil to gather resources for the conservation of national parks.
The program is made for national and foreign companies or individuals that wish to contribute to environmental protection in Brazil. By adopting a National Park, parties will be recognized as partners of the environment by signing a donation term with ICMBio, the federal entity that manages national parks in Brazil.
Donations are expected to correspond to a contribution of € 10 per hectare per year. The areas of these parks range from 2,574 to 3,865,172 hectares, allowing for different levels of investment. In the Amazon region alone, the program has the potential of funneling up to € 640 million per year directly to national parks.
Through the Adopt-a-Park Program, resources are invested by the adopter in services such as remote monitoring, wildland firefighting and prevention, actions against illegal deforestation and recovery of degraded areas.
Services and products will be donated from the Partners of the Environment directly to the national parks, with the assurance of absolute transparency.
