UN launches the International Year of Forests

The global launch of the International Year of Forests 2011 was held yesterday (February 2), in New York (USA), in conjunction with the High-Level Segment of the ninth session of the United Nations Forum on Forests (UNFF9). The ceremony was presided over by H.E. Mr. Joseph Deiss, President of the 65th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
