VITEM - TEMPORARY VISA
ATTENTION: Please do not visit the Consulate without an appointment. Visa requests must be scheduled through the E-Consular Platform. All visas must be requested in Person.
TEMPORARY VISA (VITEM) is granted to foreign citizens, for stay exceeding 90 days, in the following situations:
-VITEM I: research, teaching or academic extension;
-VITEM III: humanitarian visa;
-VITEM VII: as a minister of a religious confession;
-VITEM VIII: voluntary work visa;
-VITEM X: visa for activities of economic, scientific, technological or cultural relevance;
-VITEM XI: family reunification visa;
-VITEM XII: artistic or sports activities visa;
-VITEM XIV: digital nomad visa.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Visa applications are subject to analysis and processing time by the Embassy.
(Applicants are advised not to make any travel commitments or purchase airline tickets before receiving official confirmation.)
| 1. | Precautions |
Make sure you are applying for the appropriate type of Brazilian visa, based on the reason for your trip and the intended period of stay in Brazil. |
| 2. | Application Delivery Receipt - RER |
Click here to access the form. Once completed, print the delivery receipt (RER) generated by the system and sign in the appropriate field. PLEASE NOTE: Completing this form is only the first step in the process. It is essential to upload all required documentation to both the SCI (Integrated Consular System) and E-Consular. |
| 3. | Passport |
Signed, valid up to the end of your trip, and with at least two blank pages available (amendment pages are not accepted). |
| 4. | Photo |
Attach a passport-style photo that meets ICAO required standards (normally 3.5cm x 4.5cm, in color, white background, neutral facial expression). This photo will be used for your visa. |
| 5. | Birth Certificate |
Submitting this document is intended to prevent any discrepancies between the information contained in the visa application and the birth certificate itself. As the birth certificate will have to be presented during the mandatory registration of the visa with the Federal Police in Brazil, any inconsistent data will preclude the conclusion of this process. Thus, the presentation of the birth certificate during the visa application stage abroad is not compulsory and will not prevent the visa from being issued, but is highly recommended in order to avoid possible inconveniences. |
| 6. | Good Conduct Certificate OR Police check/criminal records |
Valid Good Conduct Certificate (issued within at least 3 months) PLEASE NOTE: if the applicant has lived in multiple countries within the last 12 months, a police check from each country of residence must be provided. *** For police check/criminal records issued within at least 3 months, we kindly request that you upload both pages (front and back-one with an apostille). |
| 7. | Evidence of Income | Proof of financial capability during the stay in Brazil. (i.e., bank statements from the three most recent months); |
| 8. | Evidence of Legal Stay in Bahrain | CPR (for Bahraini citizens only) or Valid Residence Permit (for other nationals); |
| 9. | Airline Ticket Booking /Form | Please click here to download the form. Then, fill out and sign the form, and later upload it along with your airline ticket booking to the E-Consular system. (Please note that we do not recommend purchasing airline tickets before receiving prior approval for your visa application from the Embassy.); |
| 10. | Proof of Address | Please provide Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) bill or Municipality Certificate under your currently address. |
| 11. | Proof of Health Insurance | Please provide Proof of Health Insurance valid in Brazil. |
| 12. | For all travel purposes | For all travel purposes other than tourism, please provide a supporting document to justify your trip (such as a conference or a business partner invitation letter). |
| 13. | Visa Request Form for Minors | If applicable, Click here to download the Visa Request Form for Minors. Please fill out, sign (signature of both parents are required), scan and attach the form on your application. |
| 14. | How to request |
The service request must be made through the E-consular system. To start your request, Click here. Applicants are required to present, on the date of the appointment, the original versions of all documents uploaded to the E-Consular platform. If more documents are needed, please include those and resubmit. |
| 15. | Service details | Services are provided exclusively in person, by prior appointment. After verification, validation, and approval of the data and documentation related to the request, the consultant/applicant will receive the appropriate updates and can then select the closest available date for their in-person appointment. |
