VITEM XIV: retirement visa

TEMPORARY VISA XIV - Retirement

Please be advised that Temporary visas may be granted to applicants who intend to establish temporary residence (for more than 90 days). If you intend to stay in Brazil for less than 90 days, you must apply for a Visit Visa.

Retirement: Retiree or pensioner who intends to live in Brazil and transfer a monthly income equivalent to at least US$ 2,000.00.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

1) PASSPORT: Signed, valid up to the end of your trip, and with at least one visa blank page available (amendment pages are not accepted);

2) Visa form at the link https://formulario-mre.serpro.gov.br/sci/pages/web/ui/#/servicos-estrangeiros. One per applicant completely filled out online and signed by the passport holder or his/her parents/guardians. You will need to print only the receipt page with the bar code;

3) PHOTO: One recent 2” x 2” passport-photo size, front view, white background;

4) Good Conduct Certificate: issued within the last 3 months;

5) BIRTH CERTIFICATE: copy of your birth certificate;

6) HEALTH INSURANCE valid in Brazil.

Additional Requirements:

1) RETIREE: Proof of monthly retirement income of at least US$ 2,000.00.

2) PENSIONER: Proof of monthly pension of at least US$ 2,000.00.

3) The consular fee must be paid via bank transfer. A copy of the payment receipt is required to be uploaded with your application and must also be presented to the Consular Section on the scheduled day of your appointment.

FOREIGN RESIDENTS: please present also a Copy of the Resident Permit and/or a Valid Visa.

Additional documents may be requested at the Consular Authority’s discretion.
