VITEM XI - Family Reunion Visa
VITEM XI - Family Reunion Visa
General information
The VITEM XI is analogous to the old VIPER-RF (Visto Permanente por Reunião Familiar - Permanent Visa for Family Reunion). This Visa allows permanent residence in Brazil with possibility of employment.
This Visa may not be issued to those who have married in Brazil through power of attorney; in this case, a VIVIS application must be made instead.
Who may obtain a VITEM XI?
1. The spouse or companion of either a Brazilian or an immigrant with permanent residence in Brazil;
2. The father or the mother of either a Brazilian child or an immigrant child with permanent residence in Brazil;
3. The ascendant and the descendant of either a Brazilian or an immigrant with permanent residence in Brazil;
4. The brother or the sister of either a Brazilian or an immigrant with permanent residence in Brazil;
5. The immigrant with guardianship over a Brazilian minor.
How to apply
Visa applications are processed exclusively by prior appointment through the e-Consular system. All required documentation must be submitted via the e-Consular platform for review and approval by the Consulate. Applications submitted by post will not be processed.
Once your application is submitted, it will be review by a consular officer. If there are any issues with the documentation, the applicant will be notified by email and asked to provide the necessary corrections or additional documents through the system.
After the application is approved, another email notification will be sent with instructions to schedule the date and time of your appointment at the Consulate through the e-Consular system.
