- Electricity: Voltage varies between 110V and 220V depending on the region. In Brazil, the standard plug and socket type is Type N. Type N plugs have three round pins, two for power and one for grounding. Type C plugs, which are used in many European countries, are also compatible with Type N sockets.
- Time Zones: Brazil has four time zones: Fernando de Noronha time (UTC−02:00), Brasília time (UTC−03:00), Amazon time (UTC−04:00), and Acre time (UTC−05:00).
- Climate:
- Northern Region (Amazon): Equatorial, hot and humid, rain year-round.
- Northeastern Region: Tropical, warm all year, rainy season varies by state.
- Central-Western Region: Tropical savanna, dry season (May–Sept), rainy season (Oct–April).
- Southeastern Region: Tropical to subtropical, hot summers, mild winters.
- Southern Region: Subtropical, four distinct seasons, cooler winters.
Travel Tips
- U.S., Canadian, and Australian citizens are required to obtain a tourist visa (VIVIS) for stays of up to 90 days in Brazil. Citizens of other countries can click here to find out if they need to apply for a visitor visa.

- Use registered taxis or ride-share apps in major cities.
