The Embassy of Brazil in Windhoek is pleased to announce that applications for the Master’s Degree and PhD (Doctorate) scholarships under the PEC-PG Post-Graduation Studies in Brazil Programme 2026 will be open from 14 August to 8 October 2025 for students interested in pursuing studies at Brazilian universities.
For 2026, 650 scholarships will be offered in accredited Brazilian universities. Applications must be submitted online according to the following rules.

Programme of Post-Graduation Students under Bilateral Agreement (PEC-PG)

Objective
The PEC‑PG is jointly administered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), and the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). It operates as an international cooperation initiative designed to attract foreign students to Brazil, fostering the exchange of knowledge between partner nations, whilst also benefiting Brazilian institutions through exposure to highly qualified researchers and academics from abroad.

Duration of Scholarships:

Sandwich Doctorate: between 6 (six) and 10 (ten) months

Full Doctorate: up to 48 (forty-eight) months

Full Master’s: up to 24 (twenty-four) months
Application
Applications are free of charge and must be submitted directly on the programme’s webpage by completing the application form and uploading the required documents, as described in the official call for applications (edital).
After submission, each applicant will immediately receive, at the e-mail address provided in the form, confirmation of receipt of their application.
Submitting an application implies that the candidate is aware of and accepts the rules and conditions established in each official call, regarding which no claims of ignorance will be accepted.
