Scope of Prerrogatives
What the Consular Section can do:
- - Protect the interests of Brazilian citizens, in accordance with Brazilian and Albanian laws;
- - Issue passports and provide consular services to Brazilian citizens;
- - Grant visas to foreign citizens, pursuant to Brazilian law, by appointment;
- Provide assistance to Brazilian citizens in cases of emergencies such as public calamities, wars and imprisonment;
- Contact family members of Brazilian nationals, upon request;
- Provide assistance to Brazilian citizens in cases of repatriation, such as sexual abuse, domestic violence and human trafficking.
What the Consular Section cannot do:
- Provide information on Albanian visas, naturalization, residence, or immigration status in the Republic of Albania, which are the sovereign prerogative of the host country, i.e., the Republic of Albania. For these issues, please contact the local authorities directly;
- Take on debts or provide financial assistance;
- Provide tourist information, book or change flights, reservations, track lost luggage, etc.
- Investigate crimes or hire legal assistance;
- Assist Brazilian citizens through immigration to enter the Republic of Albania;
- Provide or extend identity card, work card, driver's license, criminal record certificate, duplicates of documents issued in Brazil, health certificate, diplomas, documents related to income tax, approval of divorce, adoption.
