GENERAL RULES
Temporary Visa XIV, based on the transfer of retirement income and/or death pension benefit, may be granted to retired immigrant or death pension beneficiary who present proof of monthly transfer to Brazil equal or greater than US$ 2,000.00 (net income).

Visa application form
|
- The form must be filled in online. Click here to access.
- Enter complete information – please note that some fields are mandatory.
- Parents' names must be entered in full (name and surname), exactly as displayed in the applicant's birth certificate.
- Upload the digital copies of all documents listed below (items 2 to 5). Applications without the uploaded documents will not be accepted.
- Click on the "Complete Application" button to generate the Visa Request Form Receipt (RER).
- Print and sign the RER; affix your photo on the indicated field.

Valid passport
|
Passport valid for at least six months prior to its expiration date and must have at least two blank pages.

|
One passport photo
|
Photo must be in color, front view, white background, size 4x5 cm (document/passport size), printed in photographic paper and taken recently. The same photo cannot be used for more than one application.

|
Police background check
|
The document must be issued in English (international model) by the country of residence (if not issued by Norwegian or Icelandic authorities, the documents must be apostilled by the competent authority in the country of origin).
If the applicant has lived in multiple countries within the last 12 months, a police background check from each country of residence must be provided. They must also be duly legalised (contain an apostille) by the competent authority in the issuing country and, if necessary, translated by a certified translator.
The document must be stamped and signed by the local authority and must be issued not more than 90 days prior to delivery to this Embassy. The electronic version will not be accepted.

Birth certificate
|
Birth certificate with both parents’ names residence (if not issued by Norwegian or Icelandic authorities, the documents must be apostilled by the competent authority in the country of origin).
The document must be stamped and signed by the local authority and the electronic version will not be accepted.

Flight to Brazil
|
Flight itinerary showing entry in Brazil.

Valid health insurance
|
Heath Insurance valid in Brazil.

|
Pension documentation
|
Proof of retirement and ability to transfer monthly to Brazil the amount equal to or greater than US$2,000.00 (net income):
- letter from NAV (Norway), TR (Iceland) or another pension provider; and
- letter from bank, signed by applicant’s account manager, informing that the bank will be able to transfer monthly the amount equal or greater than US$ 2,000.00 to applicant’s bank account in Brazil.
Proof of receipt of monthly pension for death in the amount equal to or greater than US$ 2,000 (net income);
If necessary, proof of other regular sources of income to complement the amount of US$ 2,000.00.

Visa applications must be submitted by mail only.

The name of the sender must be written on the envelope. It is also necessary to include a self-addressed, prepaid return envelope. The Embassy cannot be held responsible for lost or delayed mail.
REGISTRATION WITH THE FEDERAL POLICE
Holders of this type of visa must register with the Federal Police within 90 days from first entry in Brazil. Contact the Federal Police directly to learn how to register.
LENGTH OF STAY IN BRAZIL
Up to 2 years.
FAMILY REUNION
Dependants (spouse, partner, children, other) may be granted a Family Reunion Visa (VITEM XI), bound to the primary VITEM XIV application, thus subject to the same conditions (e.g. same length of stay etc.). Family applications may be lodged jointly or after the primary applicant’s VITEM XIV has been issued.
