Public Power of Attorney
The Embassy of Brazil in Lusaka can issue a public power of attorney for Brazilian citizens over 18 years old, legally capable, or emancipated minors holding a valid Brazilian identity document, as well as for foreign citizens holding a valid National Migration Registration Card (CRNM).
The individual or legal entity granting powers to another through a power of attorney is called the grantor; the person receiving the powers is called the attorney-in-fact.
To request this service at the Embassy, gather the necessary documentation:
ATTENTION: Documents that do not allow full identification of the holder, either due to age, erasure, or damage, will not be accepted and the request will be denied.

Application form |
The form available at this link must be downloaded and completed. The text with the powers to be granted must be included in the specific field of the form. Questions regarding the adequacy of the text should be directed to the institution requesting the power of attorney. |

Valid/recent identity document (to be presented at the time of in-person service): |
Original and copy of one of the following documents: - If a Brazilian citizen, present the original Brazilian passport or identity card (RG) or driver’s license (CNH). For powers of attorney involving financial or property matters and banks in general, the CPF number must also be provided. - If a foreign citizen, present the original valid National Migration Registration Card (CRNM). - In both cases above, the CPF number must be provided. |

Specific documentation (if applicable) to be presented at the time of in-person service: |
- Applicants married and issuing a joint power of attorney: present the original Brazilian marriage certificate; - Power of attorney requested by a Brazilian legal entity: present the original or a copy of the CNPJ, a simplified certificate from the Commercial Board (valid for 30 days), as well as a copy of the company’s articles of incorporation showing the status of administrator. |

Payment of consular fee |
5.00 gold reais (equivalent to USD 5.00) – powers of attorney or substitutions related to State pensions, or; 20.00 gold reais (equivalent to USD 20.00) – powers of attorney or substitutions for other purposes, or; 5.00 gold reais (equivalent to USD 5.00) – State pensions, second copy, or; 10.00 gold reais (equivalent to USD 10.00) – other purposes, second copy. |
