Investment (VITEM IX)

This type of visa requires starting the process in Brazil. Approval of residence permit by the Brazilian Ministry of Justice and Public Security (“Ministério da Justiça e Segurança Pública”) is required, prior to visa application. Only after the authorization is granted, the applicant will be able to apply for an investment visa at the Embassy of Brazil on Ljubljana.

Please be advised that temporary visas may be granted to applicants who intend to establish temporary residence (for more than 90 days). If you intend to stay in Brazil for less than 90 days, you must apply for a Visit Visa.

Eligible dependents of a VITEM IX holder or applicant may apply for a Temporary Visa XI - Family Reunion.

1) ELEGIBILITY:

1) Administrator, manager, director, or executive with supervising responsibilities over a foreign corporation or society that intends to invest in a Brazilian counterpart;

2) Individual who intends to invest at least R$ 500.000,00 in a Brazilian company/enterprise;

3) Individual who intends to invest at least R$ 150.000,00 in a Brazilian startup;

4) Individual who intends to invest at least R$ 700.000,00 in real estate in the North or Northeast regions of Brazil;

5) Individual who intends to invest at least R$ 1.000.000,00 in real estate in the Center-West, Southeast, or South regions of Brazil.

2) TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

Temporary Visas are issued for up to 1 year and the residence period for such cases is indefinite.

After the visa is expired, holders may continue to enter Brazil throughout their temporary residence period with a valid passport and a Brazilian National Migratory Registration Card - CRMN (previously, National Foreign Registration - RNE).

Holders of any Temporary Visa must register with the Federal Police in Brazil within 90 days from first arrival in the country. Applicants will receive a Visa Application Form from the Embassy upon the issuance of the visa, which must be presented for such registration.

It is the responsibility of the sponsor, promoter or employer to make all necessary arrangements related to the contract in Brazil, prior to the lodging of the visa application.

3) MANDATORY DOCUMENTATION

1	VISA APPLICATION FORM: Fill out the on-line visa application form at https://formulario-mre.serpro.gov.br. When you open the link, press on the message "CONTINUE TO THIS WEB SITE". Print the ¨Visa Form Delivery Receipt¨, paste a PASSPORT SIZE COLOR photograph (3 x 4 cm) over WHITE background (snapshots and computer pictures are not accepted) and SIGN it. Important: For minor children (under 18 years old), the printed RER must be signed by both parents.
2	Passport (with at least 2 unused pages)
3	Certificate of Criminal Record For applicants over 18 years Document must me original From country of citizenship and from countries where lived on the last 12 months Documents issued outside Slovenia must be apostilled. In case the document is not drawn up in Portuguese, English, Spanish, French, or Slovenian an official translation (sworn or qualified translation) must also be provided.
4	Letter clearly stating the expected arrival date in Brazil
5	Original birth certificate, clearly stating parents' full names Document must be original It must clearly state parents' full names. If issued outside Slovenia document must be apostilled. In case the document is not drawn up in Portuguese, English, Spanish, French, or Slovenian an official translation (sworn or qualified translation) must also be provided.
6	For applicants under 18 years old: Original letter of consent signed by father and mother or legal guardian. The signatures of both parents (or of the legal guardian) must be validated by the Public Notary and then by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. A model of letter of consent is available here
7	VITEM IX fee: United States of America € 304.50 All the other countries € 105.00 Payment for consular services is received through bank transfers or deposits and cash is no longer accepted. The applicant must present proof of payment at the time of attendance. The transfer must be arranged in advance and the receipt must be issued only after payment has been confirmed by the bank. Transfers will not be allowed during the service. Cell phone screenshots and receipts that show the status “in process” (v obdelavi) will not be accepted. In the field “Payment details” (namen plačila), enter the name of the applicant and the service required. Examples: John Doe – passport; José das Couves – marriage registration; Jana Vzorec – visa. Important:

The requirements are not all-inclusive. When processing a visa submission, the Embassy may request additional information/documentation.

Remember that a visa to travel to Brazil is NOT YOUR RIGHT, and the Consular Authority reserves the right to request for additional documents not mentioned above or call for an interview, at date and time specified by the Consular Authority.

Please note that processing time may be extended in times of heavy workload or due to unforeseen circumstantes.

Registration with the Federal Police (DPMAF) within 90 days of arrival in Brazil. For this purpose, it is mandatory to present the VISA APPLICATION FORM (which is delivered by the Consular Section together with the passport) upon entry.
Attention: Upon registration with the Federal Police (DPMAF) in Brazil, the foreign national must present a birth (or marriage) certificate containing parents' full names, which must be duly legalized/apostilled by the competent authority in the issuing country and subsequently translated by a sworn translator (“tradutor juramentado”) in Brazil.
