Visitor Visa - Tourism
For short term stays - up to 90 days - with no intention of establishing residence

ELIGIBILITY:
A Visitor Visa is applicable if you are travelling to Brazil for short stays (up to 90 days) with any of the following purposes and no intention of establishing residence:
- Tourism;
- Business activities, including meetings, trade fairs, prospection of commercial opportunities, contract signing, auditing and consulting;
- Study trips, including academic internship, theological and technical studies (as student or teacher);
- Family visit;
- Attend congresses, seminaries or conferences;
- Volunteer work for religious social assistance entities or non-governmental organizations;
- Science, technology or innovation research or cooperation activities, under the umbrella of an international cooperation program with a Brazilian institution (as scientists, professors, researchers or other professionals, employed by a foreign educational or research institution);
- Media coverage and/or film-making;
- Work as flight/ship crew member without an international crew card (for maritime crew, only those holding a Seafarers' Identity Document issued by countries that have ratified ILO's Convention 185 may enter the country for short stays without a Visit Visa);
- Artistic performances and/or competitions (both as an artist or supporting technical staff);
- Sports competitions and/or training camps (both as athletes or supporting technical staff);
- Medical treatment;
- Adoption of a Brazilian child;
- Application for residence in Brazil (for an underage child adopted by a Brazilian citizen or resident);
- Renewal of an expired Brazilian foreigner registration card (for permanent residents over 60 years old);
- Registration or extension of temporary residence in Brazil;
- Reissuance of a lost, stolen or damaged Brazilian foreigner registration card;
- Transit through Brazil, for those who must leave the international transit area (otherwise no visa is required).
- Citizens of some countries / special administrative regions, holding passports with a minimum validity of 6 months, do not need a visa to enter Brazil for visit purposes and stays of up to 90 days unless otherwise stated. Please check your country visa requirements here.

REQUIREMENTS:
If your visa is for traveling to Brazil for business purposes, including media coverage or working as a crew member (less than 90 days), please click here for specific requirements
1) Online- application form, filled out at https://formulario-mre.serpro.gov.br, printed and signed by passport holders or by parents/legal guardians (for applicants who are the minor of 18 years old).
2) One recent professional passport photo, 4x6cm, white background. Snapshots, copies, or computer pictures are not accepted.
3) Original passport, valid for at least another 6 months from the expected date of entry in Brazil, with at least two blank visa pages,
4) Financial proof:
- Last 6-month bank account statement,
- Monthly payslip or proof of income from properties or businesses, and
- Savings account balance confirmation (savings account must be opened at least 3 months prior to the application date),
=> If documents issued by another country, these documents should be previously legalized by the Brazilian Embassy/Consulate in the country of issuance.
5) Proof of employment/study: Labor Contract (original/true certified copy) of the current/last jobs,
Or Confirmation letter from schools/universities where applicants are studying at,
or Business license under applicants’ name, and Leave permit from the company,
=> If issued by another country, these documents should be previously legalized by the Embassy of Brazil in the country of issuance
6) Round trip flight itinerary,
7) Hotel reservation or letter of invitation with a confirmed address in Brazil,
8) Invitation letter (Letter of guarantee) clarifying purpose of travel, duration of stay, travel itinerary of applicant or Entry ticket (original or colored scanned version) + Copy of identification documents of the inviter in Brazil – case b) or case c),
9) Assignment letter from the company/organization sending applicants to attend the event – case c),
10) Birth certificate and adoption documentation – case d)
11) Birth certificate or documents providing the proof of relationship – case f);
12) Registry/Renewal of duration of stay application, Permanence application or Residence card – case e)
13) For the applicant under 18 years of age:
- Notarized copy of birth certificate. A notarized translation in English is required if the original is not in English or Portuguese.
- A notarized letter of authorization from the parents for the minor to travel abroad, if the minor is traveling without parents or with the mother or father only. The letter must be certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam and then legalized by Embassy of Brazil (legalization fee: 500.000 VND).
- Certified copy of passport/ID card of parents or the authorized third party.
14) For foreign nationals: Valid Vietnamese visa or temporary residence card, and Work permit.
15) TRANSIT at Brazilian airports: The visa is not required when the transit time is less than 24h and the travelers do not go through the Immigration control and enter Brazilian territory.
The visa is needed when travelers need to go through Brazil to enter the country of destination, applicants must hold a purchased flight ticket and visa of the country of destination (in case of exemption, provide supporting documents proving the information from the official agencies of the country of destination).
16) International health insurance valid for the duration of stay in Brazil, with the minimum coverage of 5.500 USD,
17) Fee payment receipt: Make sure you pay the right amount of fee according to your nationality. The fee is non – refundable at any case. Paying a fee does not guarantee the visa will be granted.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
- The processing time is about 7-15 working days and might be extended if necessary. Do not contact the consular section until the outcome of application is available. To speed up processing time, applicant must upload the required documents as complete and accurate as possible.
- We strongly recommend you apply for visa well in advance of your proposed journey, 1 month before departure date, and not to make irrevocable travel plans. Embassy takes no responsibility related to itinerary changing.
- All documents must be prepared in English or English translation is required.
- The applicant should complete application fully and authentically. The Embassy may at any time request further information or additional documents if needed.
- Visa is not an applicant’s right and may be denied. It does not guarantee the right of entry or stay in Brazil and can be cancelled at the discretion of the Brazilian immigration authorities.

- Visa documentation can be delivered in person/ by the third party/ by postal mail. Working hours: 09h-13h, Monday to Friday.
- If the visa is approved, there are two ways to collect it at the Embassy:
- · In person: the visa can be collected in person, or by an authorized third party, from Monday to Friday, from 14h-16h, at the Embassy.
- · By post: passports with processed visas can be returned to a named address in Vietnam. A self-addressed envelope need be sent with the application; payment to Viettel Post shall be made on delivery. Please note that the Embassy shall not be liable for documents delayed/lost by mail services.
