PASSPORT FOR MINORS
Attention: Law No. 14.534/23, which makes the CPF mandatory for identifying Brazilian citizens in government databases, is now in effect. As a result, the interested party's CPF number is required to provide public services - including consular services.
🔹 IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
a) If the applicant does not yet have a CPF, it can be requested at the Consular Section. Find instructions by clicking HERE.
b) The presence of both parents/legal guardians is mandatory at the time of passport collection for minors under 18. In exceptional cases, or if you have any questions, please contact the Consular Section.
c) The presence of minors under 12 years old is not required.
d) The photograph uploaded in the passport application must comply with the standards established by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO Doc 9303), to ensure proper facial identification in international border control systems.
e) The photograph uploaded in the passport application will be used in the issuance of the document. If the picture quality is low (grainy, pixelated, blurred, etc), the final result will be affected.

📌 HOW TO APPLY FOR A PASSPORT
1) Fill out the Online Passport Application Form
The information provided in the application must match the official Brazilian documents.
It is important that the form is correctly completed and that all mandatory documents are uploaded to the system.
The following documents are mandatory when applying for a passport for minors:
a) Previous passport, if any (identification and photo page);
b) Brazilian ID card (RG), if any;
c) Birth or Naturalization Certificate;
d) CPF number (to be entered in the system);
e) Recent photograph;
f) Identification documents of both parents (RG, passport, or QID); and
g) Travel Authorization and Passport Issuance Form, filled out and signed by both parents.
Attention: The signature on the form must match the identification document provided (RG, passport, or QID), as shown in the EXAMPLE:
After filling out the form and uploading the required documents, print or save the generated Application Receipt (RER). Click here to view an example of a completed RER.
Using the RER protocol number, the Consular Section will be able to access your application.
2) Send the following documents to consular.doha@itamaraty.gov.br:
a) RER;
b) Previous passport, if any (identification and photo page);
c) Brazilian ID card (RG), if any;
d) Birth or Naturalization Certificate;
e) CPF number (to be entered in the system);
f) Identification documents of both parents (RG, passport, or QID); and
g) Travel Authorization and Passport Issuance Form, filled out and signed by both parents.
⚠️ Important:
➜ Applications without the complete upload of the required documentation (including photograph) will not be processed.
➜ The photograph uploaded to the system will be used for printing the passport. There is no need to bring a printed photograph at the time of passport collection.
3) Collection
📬 The applicant will receive an email with the date and time for passport collection.
On the day of collection, please present the original mandatory documents. The previous passport will be canceled and returned.
The average issuance time, from the receipt of the complete documentation until collection, is 15 to 20 business days. We kindly ask that passport applications be submitted well in advance, especially before major national holidays (Eid holidays, Qatar National Day, year-end festivities).

→ Payment may be made by a third party, as long as the receipt contains at least the name of the service applicant.
