Applications by post
Residents within the jurisdiction of the Consulate-General in Tokyo can apply for a passport by post.
Even applications made by post must first be registered in the e-Consular system.
⚠️ Applications received from provinces outside the Consulate's jurisdiction or sent without first being validated by the e-Consular will be returned unprocessed. Extra costs for sending or returning documents are the responsibility of the applicant.
⚠️ Applying by post is the sole and exclusive responsibility of the person concerned. The ConsulateGeneral is not responsible for any loss of documents or delays in delivery.
