PROFESSIONAL WORKER
There are two steps to request a visa:
Step 1: Fill out the Visa Request Form at:
https://formulario-mre.serpro.gov.br/sci/pages/web/ui/#/servicos-estrangeiros
Upload all required documents.
Print and sign the Visa Request Form Receipt (RER)
Step 2: Submit the visa application through the e-Consular system at:
https://ec-amsterda.itamaraty.gov.br/
Upload all required documents, including the signed Visa Request Form Receipt (RER).
The documentation will be reviewed by the consular team to avoid unnecessary trips to the Consulate. Once the documentation has been approved, applicants will be able to schedule their appointment through the e-Consular system.
Visa services are available by appointment only. Bring all original documents to your appointment.
a) General rules
A VITEM-V is issued to a foreign citizen travelling to Brazil to work:
A – as a foreign employee of a Brazilian company;
B – in a temporary employment in the Brazilian Government under an employment agreement or resulting from an international agreement subscribed by Brazil;
C – as a trainee after the completion of university or professional studies, provided that he/she is not employed by a company or institution in Brazil;
D – as a teacher for a training stage in the teaching of foreign languages;
E– as a crewmember of a tourist ship operating in Brazilian waters;
F– in the framework of a contract for transfer of technology or provision of technical assistance or under a technical cooperation agreement between a Brazilian and a foreign company or institution, provided that he/she is not employed by a Brazilian company or institution;
G - in the framework of technical assistance, provided that he/she is not employed by a Brazilian company or institution, for a period of less than 90 days.
H – as a crewmember of a foreign ship operating in Brazilian waters under a service or risk contract between a Brazilian and a foreign company or institution;
I – as a crewmember of a foreign fishing ship leased by a Brazilian company;
J – as a dependant of a VITEM-V visa holder or of an applicant under one of the categories above, as defined by the pertinent resolution of the Brazilian National Immigration Council;
L- as a professor, high level technician/ researcher or scientist under an employment agreement to work for institutions in Brazil dedicated to teaching or research in science and technology;
In all categories above, the visa application and the pertinent documentation must firstly be filed in Brazil by the employer at the Brazilian Ministry of Justice.

- If the application is approved, the Consulate-General will be authorized to issue the visa. You must present the documents listed below and pay the consular fee corresponding to the work visa.
- Maximum duration of the VITEM-V visa is two years.
b) Required documents
1– Passports presented must be original, valid for at least 6 (six) months prior to expiration date. The passport must have at least 2 (two) blank visa pages.
2 - One recent 3,5 cm x 4,5 cm (pasfoto) photograph, front view.
3 – One visa application form per person (click here to fill in the form). Please disregard the error message about the website’s security certificate. Click at “Continue to this website (not recommended)”.
Fill in the form. Attach all requested documents to the form.
. Click "SEND" to receive your processing number and receipt.
. Print the receipt.
. Attach your photograph
. Sign the receipt.
. Bring the duly completed and signed receipt, original documents and passport.
4 - Certificate of Good Behavior (VOG), in the international model, issued by the Ministry of Justice certifying absence of criminal record – only valid within 90 days after issuance.
- VOG - Verklaring Omtrent het Gedrag: In order to issue the VOG, the Dutch authorities request a declaration provided by this Consulate. To request the declaration, send a photo of your passport to: visa.amsterdam@itamaraty.gov.br
- Outside the Netherlands: Certificates of good behaviour will only be accepted after they have been legalized by (1) the Brazilian Consulate in the country they have been issued or (2) bearing an “apostille” stamp according to The Hague Convention.
5 - Birth Certificate, in the international model, legalized or apostilled if from outside the Netherlands, or any other document that proves your parents' names.
