Signature Authentication
General Info
Only Brazilian nationals and foreigners holding a valid RNM/RNE card (Carteira de Registro Nacional Migratório / Registro Nacional de Estrangeiros) are elegible to have their signatures authenticated at the Embassy.
Other foreigners (including spouses of Brazilians) must sign before a Singapore Notary Public and submit the document, with the Notary Certificate attached, for legalization by the Singapore Academy of Law. There are no steps no be taken at the Embassy in this case.
The Embassy will only authenticate signatures in documents that are intended to be used in Brazil. For documents that are to be used in third countries, applicants must seek information from the embassies or consulates of the destination country.
Required Documents and Procedures
- To register your signature with the Consular Section, the Brazilian citizen must present a Brazilian identity document containing a photo and signature. Foreign citizens, in turn, must present the foreign passport and the RNM/RNE card;
- Documents with signatures to be recognized for authenticity must be signed only at the Embassy, in the presence of the Consular Authority;
- Documents with signatures to be recognized by similarity can be signed before presentation to the Consular Section.
How to request
In-person attendance at the Embassy, with no prior appointment required, bringing the original documents listed above.
