Passport for minor (under 18)
Important information
- Passports will not have their validity reduced if the applicant has not registered their fingerprints at the Embassy.
- The new passport may be requested at any time, and there is no need to wait for the current passport to expire.
- It is recommended that nationals of Brazil enter and leave the country with a Brazilian passport.
- It is the citizen's responsibility to check if their passport is valid. The validity of a passport is never extended.
- Denial to board due to insufficient validity does not constitute a valid reason for the Embassy to process a new emergency travel document.
- Both parents must be present at the Embassy or, if one is overseas, an authorization letter must be signed at the closest Brazilian diplomatic office and submitted together with the documents below.
- Minors between 12 and 18 years old must also be present, for fingerprint collection.

| Parental consent to issuance of passport to minors and register of travel authorisation |
Whilst the consent for passport to minor children is mandatory, registering the travel authorisation in the minor child's passport is optional. It is recommended, in the case of authorization to travel unaccompanied, that the minor is over 12 years old. |

Written travel authorisation for minor children on passport page (form on the right)
- Registering the travel authorisation in the child's passport is optional, whereas the consent for issuing a new passport to a minor child is mandatory.
- If the parents do not wish to have the travel authorisation registered in the child's passport, the travel authorisation form must be left blank.
- If they wish to have it written in the child's passport, they must select one of the three possible types of authorisation, and follow the procedures included in the table above.
- The form must be used only if the travel authorisation is to be written in the passport issued by the Embassy.
- Travel authorisation validity is defined by the parents, and may be valid for as long as the passport is valid. The authorisation can only be cancelled upon request of a new travel document for the child.
- In the absence of a written authorisation in the passport, the minor child shall only be allowed to leave Brazilian territory accompanied by both parents, or upon submission of written authorisation from the absent parent or court authorisation.
- Missing or stolen passport: Apart from the documents stated above, the applicant must also present the following:
- Police report lodged with Singapore Police Force;
- Document proving the applicant's nationality (e.g.: birth or marriage certificate).
- Damaged passport:
- when the damage does not compromise the holder's identification, the instructions and documents outlined above are sufficient;
- if the identity of the holder cannot be properly verified, a Notification of Passport Damage must be filled out and signed at the Embassy.
