Passport for aplicants aged 18 or older

Important information

Passports will not have their validity reduced if the applicant has not registered their fingerprints at the Embassy.
The new passport may be requested at any time, and there is no need to wait for the current passport to expire.
It is recommended that nationals of Brazil enter and leave the country with a Brazilian passport.
It is the citizen's responsibility to check if their passport is valid. The validity of a passport is never extended.
Denial to board due to insufficient validity does not constitute a valid reason for the Embassy to process a new emergency travel document.

Required Documents and Procedures

Please read the instructions below according to the type of passport required. The Embassy may request additional information/documentation.

Document	Remarks
Filled out Online Visa Application Form	Click here to access the application form and the instructions. Upon completion, please print and sign the receipt.
Current passport	Must be handed over for cancellation. In case of missed or stolen passport, please read "Exceptional circumstances" below.
One passport size color photograph	A standard passport-size photograph (5 x 7 cm). The photo must be taken from the front, with a white background, and must be less than 6 months old.
Brazilian identity document	Original Birth Certificate (for certificate issued or translated in Brazil, in case of need, you can apply for a second issue here); The following original id documents are accepted: Identity card, issued by a Public Security State Department; Identity card issued by a public office and recognized by federal law as a valid nationwide ID; Driver's license, issued by a State Transit Department; Professional identity card, issued by a licensed professional body. Warning: Any change of marital status must be proved by the proper Brazilian document issued in Brazil by a notary public or by a Brazil Consular Section overseas (Marriage Certificate, divorce, birth certificate with the obsevations of such change). If the name has been legally altered due to a reason other than marriage or divorce: Brazilian full birth certificate ("certidão de inteiro teor") or Brazilian full marriage certificate attesting the name change. TO GUARANTEE THE SECURITY OF THE ACT, VERY OLD IDENTITY DOCUMENTS WITH A DISCREPANCY BETWEEN THE PHOTO AT THE TIME AND THE PERSON IN THE PRESENT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
CPF number	To be presented if not displayed in one of the document above.
Proof of fulfillment of electoral obligations Only for citizens between 18 and 70 years old.	Electoral clearance certificate, which can be obtained on the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) website. Warning: If you are 18 or older and do not have an electoral card yet, you must get it before you apply for a passport.
Original military certificate	Mandatory for male applicants, aged 18 to 45 years old.
Proof of fee payment	Please check amount and payment method at the bottom of the page.

Exceptional circumstances:

Missing or stolen passport: Apart from the documents stated above, the applicant must also present the following:

Police report lodged with Singapore Police Force;
Document proving the applicant's nationality (e.g.: birth or marriage certificate).

Damaged passport:

when the damage does not compromise the holder's identification, the instructions and documents outlined above are sufficient;
if the identity of the holder cannot be properly verified, a Notification of Passport Damage must be filled out and signed at the Embassy.

Passport validity

Please check below for details, depending on age of the applicant and the presentation of all required documents:
