How to Request Consular Services
1) Overview
-
All in-person services require prior appointment via e-Consular.
-
The path depends on the service type:
-
Directly in e-Consular (simple services: life certificate, certificate of residence, etc.).
-
SCI + e-Consular (complex services: passports, visas, and powers of attorney).

-
Attend only with a confirmed appointment.
3) Services requiring SCI + e-Consular (Passport, Visa, Power of Attorney)
1) SCI Stage
-
Access SCI and complete the electronic form for your service.
-
Upload the required documents (as listed on the GOV.br service page).
-
Generate the RER (Service Delivery Receipt).
-
Print the RER.
-

-
Fill in and sign the indicated fields on the RER.
2) e-Consular Stage
7. Access e-Consular and start the same service request.
8. Upload the RER (mandatory for passport, visa, and power of attorney) and all supporting documents.
9. Schedule your appointment.
10. Attend only with a confirmed appointment.
4) Notifications and follow-up
-
After the consular officer’s assessment, you will receive an automatic email stating your application was updated; then check your case status in the e-Consular system.
-
If issues arise, you will be instructed to correct them (e.g., low-quality/illegible images; outdated documents such as the electoral clearance, which must be recent).
5) Important notes
-
No in-person service will be provided without a prior e-Consular appointment.
-
Ensure all documents are legible and up-to-date before uploading.
-
Keep your RER and bring original documents when requested.
