Passport for Adults (18 years and older)
Passport applications will not be processed if the documentation is incomplete.
To request this service at the Embassy of Brazil in Lusaka, please gather the required documentation:
ATTENTION: Any document that does not allow full identification of the holder, whether due to age, erasure, or damage, will not be accepted and the request will be denied.

Brazilian identity documents: |
Original and copy of one of the following documents: - Identity card issued by the Public Security Department of any state (UF); or - ID card issued by a public agency, recognized by federal law as valid nationwide; or - Passport issued by MJSP/DPF or MRE in Brazil or abroad, even if expired for up to 2 years; or - Driver’s license (CNH) issued by DETRAN, with photo; or - Professional ID card issued by a regulatory body of a legally recognized profession; or - Digital Brazilian identity documents, provided that their authenticity and validity can be verified electronically.

Proof of Brazilian nationality: |
Original and copy of one of the following documents: - Brazilian birth certificate; or - Naturalization certificate or publication of naturalization in the Federal Official Gazette.

Proof of compliance with military obligations: |
Required for male applicants from January 1st of the year they turn 19 until the date they turn 45 (Law No. 4.375/64, art. 74, a). |

Proof of regular electoral status: |
Regular status may be proven by presenting: - Electoral clearance certificate, available at www.tse.jus.br; - Voter card issued after the date of the last elections (or e-voter card); - Proof of voting, fine payment, or justification for absences in the last elections; - Certificate stating it was not possible to regularize voter status due to system closure or impediment; - Certificate of electoral exemption.

One passport-size photo (5 x 7 cm). The photo must be taken from the front, with a white background, and be less than 6 months old.

120.00 reais-ouro (equivalent to USD 120.00)

Processing time
Up to 7 business days after receipt of the application at the Embassy of Brazil in Lusaka.
Passport validity
Passports for adults (18+) are valid for 10 years.
Note: If the current valid passport is not presented, the new passport will be valid for 5 years.
