Emergency Cases
If any Brazilian citizen in Zambia or Malawi is in immediate danger, call the emergency services using the numbers below:

The consular section provides support to Brazilian citizens residing in or traveling through Zambia or Malawi in cases of accident, serious illness, death in the family, arrest, disappearance, domestic violence, etc.
If this is your situation, please send an email to consular.lusaca@itamaraty.gov.br with as much information as possible, including:

Full name, date of birth, parentage, passport number, phone number, address, email, etc. of the Brazilian citizen to be assisted in Zambia or Malawi;

A description of the incident (what happened, where it happened, address, phone number, details of close contacts, etc.);

Full name, date of birth, parentage, passport number, phone number, address, email, etc. of the person requesting assistance (the one sending the email).
In urgent cases, initial contact may be made by phone at +260 765 192463 (24-hour consular duty line).
Even after the phone call, if possible, please send an email to consular.lusaca@itamaraty.gov.br with the requested information above.
All personal information is protected under Article 55 of Decree 7.724, which regulates the Access to Information Law.
In accordance with the 1963 Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, every foreign national has the right to contact the consular authorities of their country, regardless of their immigration status. Thus, a Brazilian citizen detained, arrested, hospitalized, etc. in Zambia or Malawi has the right to keep the Embassy informed of their personal and legal situation, if they so wish.
