Duplicates of Power of Attorney issued by the Embassy
The Embassy may issue a duplicate of the powers of attorney it has produced.
To request powers of attorney issued in Brazil, you must contact the issuing registry office directly.
The first copy of the power of attorney is the one delivered to the grantor at the time of the request. When necessary, the grantor or the grantee may request the issuance of one or more copies.
As it is of a public nature, duplicate powers of attorney may be requested by any interested person. When requested by third parties, other than the grantor or the grantee, the duplicate will only be issued if it is not characterized as bad faith, with the aim of violating the intimacy, private life, honor or image of the parties. If such a situation arises, the consular authority must treat the document confidentially, restricting the issuance of the duplicate to the request of the grantor or grantee.
Carefully read all the instructions on the documentation required for the issuance of a duplicate power of attorney in the table below.
