Cláudia Fonseca Buzzi
Ambassador Cláudia Fonseca Buzzi was born on July 31, 1962, in Presidente Prudente, São Paulo. She graduated in Law from the University of São Paulo (1984) and completed, in 1986, the Diplomatic Career Preparation Program at the Rio Branco Institute, joining the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs that same year.
Throughout her career, she has served in several areas of the Ministry, including administration, protocol, consular affairs, and political‑geographical departments. In Brasília, she worked as Coordinator of the Special Advisory Office for Federative and Parliamentary Affairs (2009–2012), Chief of Staff to the Undersecretary-General for Brazilian Communities Abroad (2012–2014), and Chief of Staff to the Secretary‑General of Foreign Affairs (2015–2017). She also served as Secretary for Administrative Management (2019–2021) and as Head of the Advisory Office for Federative and Parliamentary Relations (2021–2022).
As a foreign diplomat, she served twice at the Brazilian Embassy in Buenos Aires: from 1991 to 1995 as Second Secretary and Head of the Administration Sector; and from 2002 to 2006 as Counsellor and Head of the Cultural Sector. From 2006 to 2009, she was Deputy Consul‑General at the Brazilian Consulate-General in Buenos Aires. Later, between 2016 and 2018, she was Consul‑General in the same city.
She served as Brazil’s Ambassador to Switzerland and, concurrently, to Liechtenstein from 2022 to 2025. She assumed duty as Ambassador of Brazil to Hungary on August 25, 2025
