**SELECTION PROCESS FOR ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
EMBASSY OF BRAZIL IN ANKARA**
POSITION: TECHNICAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES
The Selection Committee, appointed by the Ambassador of Brazil in Ankara and acting within the scope of its authority, hereby makes public that applications are open for a selection process aimed at filling one (01) position of Administrative Assistant, pursuant to Law No. 1,440 of 29 December 2006, Decree No. 1,570 of 21 July 1995, and the Ordinance of 12 September 1995 of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as Interministerial Ordinance No. 1,305 of 17 August 2018, under the following terms:
1. POSITION AND DUTIES
1.1 The candidate selected for the position of Administrative Assistant at the Embassy of Brazil shall perform the following duties:
a) provision of specialized technical services under the coordination and guidance of the Embassy;
b) scheduling of meetings;
c) preparation of research and surveys related to the cultural sector of Türkiye;
d) interpretation and translation of documents, including occasional interpreter services;
e) liaison with authorities and other actors within the Turkish cultural landscape;
f) support for actions aimed at promoting Brazilian culture in Türkiye;
g) organization of events, meetings, and missions;
h) support for cultural representatives, delegations, and Brazilian authorities;
i) provision of administrative and logistical support and preparation of presentations for Embassy events; and
k) provision of administrative and bureaucratic support for the maintenance of the Embassy.
1.2 The duties shall be performed at the premises of the Embassy of Brazil in Ankara, without prejudice to occasional external assignments.
1.3 Candidates who are related up to the second degree to any staff member posted to, or local employee hired by, the Embassy of Brazil in Ankara are prohibited from participating in this selection process.
2. REMUNERATION
2.1 The initial gross monthly salary shall be TRY 125,587.00 (one hundred twenty-five thousand five hundred eighty-seven Turkish liras), from which mandatory social security and tax deductions shall be made in accordance with local legislation.
3. EMPLOYMENT REGIME
3.1 This selection process does not constitute a public civil service examination, and the position of Administrative Assistant at the Embassy of Brazil does not entail appointment to a public office or function.
3.2 Employment relations arising from this notice shall be governed exclusively by Turkish labor law, and Brazilian legislation shall not apply under any circumstances.
3.3 The employment contract shall have a duration of one (1) year and may be renewed successively for equal and consecutive periods, provided there is no objection from either party. For the purposes of this employment, the first three (3) months of service shall correspond to an initial paid probationary period.
3.4 Should performance during the probationary period be deemed unsatisfactory, at the discretion of the Embassy, the candidate ranked next in the final classification shall be summoned for hiring under the same probationary conditions.
3.5 The Administrative Assistant hired by the Embassy of Brazil shall work a forty (40)-hour workweek and may, on an exceptional basis, be required to perform on-call duties or work in situations of unavoidable service necessity or emergency.
3.6 The employment contract shall enter into force on the estimated date of 30 March 2026, which may be postponed at the discretion of the Selection Committee.
4. QUALIFICATIONS
4.1 The candidate must:
a) be at least 18 years of age;
b) hold a completed university degree, preferably in Literature, Humanities, Arts, or related fields;
c) have professional experience in the cultural field or related areas;
d) have command of the local language, fluency in English, and preferably knowledge of Portuguese;
e) demonstrate interest in and general knowledge of the Turkish cultural and artistic landscape and, preferably, the Brazilian one;
f) demonstrate knowledge of Turkish cultural and artistic production and, preferably, Brazilian production;
g) demonstrate the ability to draft official correspondence and other documents;
h) have computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint) and, preferably, in graphic design;
i) possess interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multicultural environment;
j) demonstrate organizational skills, initiative, flexibility, adaptability, and professional poise; and
k) demonstrate commitment to learning and continuous improvement.
5. APPLICATION
5.1 Interested candidates shall submit to the Selection Committee, by e-mail to administ.ancara@itamaraty.gov.br, no later than 05 March 2026 at 11:59 p.m., the duly completed application form available in Annex I of this notice (download here), together with the following documentation:
i. curriculum vitae indicating positions held and respective periods, as well as copies of certificates of courses in areas related to the duties and qualifications of the position;
ii. references from a previous or current employer, if any;
iii. diploma or certificate in accordance with item 4.1(b);
iv. copy of an identity document;
v. valid criminal record clearance certificate issued by the competent Turkish authority;
vi. if Brazilian or of a third-country nationality, proof of lawful residence status and legal authorization to engage in remunerated activity in Turkey;
vii. proof of registration with the Turkish social security system or proof of impossibility of affiliation, in the case of Brazilians prohibited from doing so under local legislation;
viii. declaration acknowledging that the position applied for does not constitute public employment or a public function under Brazilian law (included in the application form);
ix. if Brazilian, additionally submit:
a) proof of electoral compliance;
b) declaration that the candidate is not an active public servant and does not receive remuneration from the Brazilian government (included in the application form); and
c) if male, proof of compliance with Brazilian military service obligations.
5.2 Documentation submitted after the deadline or in incomplete form shall be disregarded. Only candidates who submit all documentation required under item 5.1 shall be deemed eligible.
5.3 The Embassy of Brazil in Ankara shall not sponsor visas for applicants. If the candidate is not a Turkish citizen, a visa allowing full-time employment in Turkey must be presented at the time of application.
5.4 Applicants shall receive confirmation of their application by e-mail.
6. SELECTION
6.1 The selection process shall consist of the following qualifying stages: curriculum analysis, written examination, and interview.
6.2 The maximum scores for each stage shall be as follows:
a) Curriculum analysis: 100 points
b) Written examination: 200 points
c) Interview: 300 points
6.3 In the curriculum analysis stage, the Selection Committee shall evaluate candidates according to the following criteria:
a) prior professional experience in areas related to the duties and qualifications of the position (up to 60 points, based on duration and relevance);
b) training certificates in areas related to the duties and qualifications of the position (up to 40 points, based on duration and relevance).
6.4 The ten (10) highest-ranked candidates in the curriculum analysis stage shall be eligible to proceed to the written examination stage. Their names and scores shall be published by the estimated date of 09 March 2026 on the website https://www.gov.br/mre/pt-br/embaixada-ancara

6.5 The written examination is expected to take place on 12 March 2026 at the premises of the Embassy of Brazil in Ankara. Details shall be sent by e-mail to the candidates selected for this stage and published on the aforementioned website.
6.6 The written examination shall consist of questions in English and Turkish covering areas related to the duties and qualifications of the position. Candidates shall be assessed on subject-matter knowledge, textual articulation, grammatical accuracy, reading comprehension, and relevance to the proposed topics.
6.7 The names and scores of candidates following the written examination stage shall be published by the estimated date of 16 March 2026 on the aforementioned website.
6.8 The five (5) highest-ranked candidates based on the combined scores of the curriculum analysis and written examination shall be summoned for the interview, expected to take place on 19 March 2026 at the Embassy of Brazil in Ankara. Interview times shall be scheduled individually by e-mail.
6.9 The interview shall assess oral communication skills in English and Turkish, as well as prior professional experience and knowledge in areas related to the position applied for, including through the administration of a practical test to verify the candidate’s basic skills in preparing graphic materials using image-editing and graphic design applications.
6.11 The candidate’s final score, for ranking purposes, shall be the sum of the scores obtained in the three selection stages.
6.12 The provisional overall result shall be published by the estimated date of 20 March 2026 on the aforementioned website.
7. APPEALS
7.1 Candidates may file an appeal, without suspensive effect, against the result of each stage within two (2) business days following the disclosure of the provisional results, by e-mail addressed to the Selection Committee at administ.ancara@itamaraty.gov.br
.
7.2 Appeals or requests for review submitted after the deadline or in a manner other than that stipulated in this notice shall not be accepted.
7.3 The final decision of the Selection Committee on appeals shall be sovereign and final, and no further administrative appeal shall be admissible.
8. RESULT
8.1 The final result of the selection process shall be published by the estimated date of 23 March 2026 on the Embassy’s website.
8.2 In the event of a tie, the following tie-breaking criteria shall be applied, in order:
a) interview score;
b) written examination score.
8.3 If the tie persists, preference shall be given to the older candidate.
8.4 The selection process shall remain valid for twelve (12) months from the publication of the result. During this period, approved candidates may be summoned, in order of ranking, should new vacancies arise in the same employment category, whether temporary or permanent.
8.5 After publication of the result, the candidate ranked first shall be summoned by the Selection Committee to submit, within a maximum period of seven (7) consecutive days, a certificate of physical and mental fitness for employment issued by an official institution.
9. HIRING
9.1 The hiring of the candidate ranked first for the initial three (3)-month probationary period shall be effected after completion of the required procedures and submission of the original documentation necessary for admission, and shall be conditional upon compliance with item 8.5 of this notice.
9.2 In the event of withdrawal or failure to comply with the deadline established in item 8.5, counted from the date of summons, the candidate shall be deemed eliminated from the selection process, and another approved candidate shall be summoned to fill the vacancy, in accordance with the order of classification.
10. GENERAL PROVISIONS
10.1 Submission of an application implies full knowledge and acceptance by the candidate of all deadlines and rules established in this notice. Any candidate who makes a false or inaccurate declaration, or who fails to meet the conditions required herein, may be disqualified at any time.
10.2 Any matters not provided for herein shall be decided by the Selection Committee.
10.3 The deadlines established in this notice may be amended, at the discretion of the Selection Committee, due to supervening factors.
