Work Visa (Temporary Visa V)
Work Visas (VITEM V) are subject to prior approval by the Ministry of Justice and Public Security of Brazil. The process must be initiated in Brazil by the sponsoring company, with the submission of the relevant application and supporting documentation to that Ministry.
Once the procedure in Brazil has been completed and approved, the Ministry of Justice and Public Security will transmit the authorization to the Embassy through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Only then may the applicant proceed and submit the visa application itself to the Embassy, by presenting the following listed documentation:
- Residence authorization approved by the Ministry of Justice and Public Security in Brazil;
- Electronic visa application form (click here);
- Receipt of the Visa Application Form (RER), obtained at the end of the electronic visa application form. The receipt must be printed, signed by the applicant, and the photo affixed in the appropriate field;
- Valid passport with at least two blank pages;
- Criminal record certificate (issued by the applicant's country of nationality);
- Additional documents, depending on the type of work activity;

Once in possession of the above documentation, the applicant must send an email to consular.ama@itamaraty.gov.br to schedule the visa issuance at the Embassy. The e-mail must inform: the applicant's full name, number of the Electronic Visa Application Form, the type of visa being requested (work visa).
