Signature comparison (Por Semelhança)
Signature authentication by comparison with a signature already registered at the Embassy
Signature authentication by similarity (by comparison of signatures) is only possible if the person who signed the document already registered their signature with the Embassy. To check whether a signature is already on file at the Embassy, please send an inquiry to consular.ama@itamaraty.gov.br.
In some cases, the receiving institution/authority in Brazil requires the signature recognition to be by authenticity, which can only be done in person by the signer (examples: Federal Police passport application form, INSS re-registration form, and forms for other Brazilian public institutions). .
It is strongly recommended that you check with the final recipient of the document which type of signature recognition (by authenticity or by comparison) is required.
