Under Brazilian law, the Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP) and the Federal Police have sole authority over residency and citizenship matters in Brazil. Brazilian embassies and consulates do not receive or process such requests. All inquiries regarding residency or Brazilian citizenship must be directed to the Ministry of Justice of Brazil.
