Iniciativa Global de Direito Internacional Humanitário (DIH) - Global Initiative to International Humanitarian Law (IHL)

On 2 October, the Mission of Brazil to the United Nations in Geneva hosted a breakfast with the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Mirjana Spoljaric, accompanied by the Committee's Chief Legal Officer, Cordula Druge.

The meeting highlighted the "Global Initiative to Galvanize Political Commitment to International Humanitarian Law (IHL)," launched by the ICRC and co-led by Brazil, France, Jordan, Kazakhstan, China, and South Africa, which has already gathered the support of nearly 100 countries.

The event was chaired by the DPR of Brazil, Ambassador Cecilia Ishitani, in partnership with the DPR of France, Claire Thuaudet, and was attended by 34 Deputy Permanent Representatives (DPRS) .

In this open and engaging dialogue, discussions focused on the role of women in humanitarian leadership and on the growing challenges to ensuring respect for IHL.

Realizou-se em 2 de outubro, na Missão do Brasil junto à ONU em Genebra, um café da manhã com a Presidente do Comitê Internacional da Cruz Vermelha (CICV), Mirjana Spoljaric, acompanhada da Diretora Jurídica do Comitê, Cordula Druge.

O encontro destacou a "Iniciativa Global de Promoção do Direito Internacional Humanitário (DIH)", lançada pelo CICV e co-liderada por Brasil, França, Jordânia, Cazaquistão, China e Africa do Sul, que já conta com a adesão de quase 100 países.

O evento foi conduzido pela RPA do Brasil, Embaixadora Cecília Ishitani, em parceria com a RPA da França, e contou com a presença de 34 Representantes Permanentes Alternas (RPAS) .

Nesse diálogo aberto e de engajamento coletivo, foram abordados o papel das mulheres na liderança humanitária e os desafios crescentes para garantir o respeito ao DIH.
