VITEM VII - Religious Activity
According to the Normative Resolution No. 14/2017 of the National Immigration Council (CNIg), VITEM VII may be issued to clergymen and missionaries with theological or religious academic education, who intend to go to Brazil for religious purposes.
⚠️ Prior authorization from The Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Headquarters (which is internally processed by SERE/DIM) is required.
General requirements:
| 1 | Original Passport; |
| 2 | One recent photo; |
| 3 | Online application form (RER – Recibo de Entrega de Requerimento), printed out and signed by the applicant; ⚠️ For on-line application, access the following: https://formulario-mre.serpro.gov.br/. |
| 4 | Police clearance issued within the last 3 months, only if you are 18 years old or older; |
| 5 | Certificate of ordination, school records or certificate issued by relevant religious organization, evidencing that the applicant is qualified to act in accordance with the religious activities under the intended trip; |
| 6 | Applicant’s résumé; |
| 7 | Statement, according to which the applicant shall only engage in any activities within aboriginal reservations after securing the applicable FUNAI (National Indian Foundation) authorization; |
| 8 | * Copy of Birth Certificate, coupled with a translation thereof into English, signed by the translator (applicant may not be the translator); |
| 9 | * Copy of the Japan residence card (Zairyu Card); ⚠️ For non-Japanese nationals only. |
| 10 | Visa fee. |
REMARKS:
* The original document must be submitted together with a copy. The original document shall be returned to the applicant.
From religious organization in Brazil
| 11 | Notarized copies of articles of incorporation, articles of organization or by-laws from relevant legal entity, duly registered before the Commercial Board of Trade or a Notary Public, as applicable (Atos Constitutivos, Contrato Social ou Estatuto Social); |
| 12 | Notarized copies of minutes of the meeting for the election or appointment of current board of directors, officers or representatives (Ata de Reunião ou de Assembleia Geral); |
| 13 | Statement issued by relevant religious organization in Brazil, signed by its representative (signature to be notarized), according to which it shall be responsible for all of the applicant’s general expenses in Brazil, as well as for her/his return to the country of origin. |
For people under 18 years old
All of the above-captioned documents, as well as the following ones:

Signature of both parents (both father and mother or guardian) is required in the signature field of the application form. |
| 2 | Copy of both parents’ Passports; | |
| 3 | Travel agreement form | ⚠️ The signature of the consent form must be the same as the one in the Passport. ⚠️ Please attach a stamp certificate when stamping a seal. |
