If the passport expired more than 2 years ago and you do not possess another recent Brazilian document, present a foreign identity document (e.g., British passport, driving licence, biometric residence permit, or valid UK ID card).

Your electoral status must be proven by presenting a Certificate of Electoral Compliance (Certidão de Quitação Eleitoral), which can be obtained on the Superior Electoral Court website.

Fill out the RER form. At this point, it will not be necessary to upload documents. This will be done in the next step, on e-consular.
ATTENTION: COMPLETING THIS FORM IS ONLY THE FIRST STEP. YOUR PASSPORT APPLICATION WILL ONLY BE ANALYSED AFTER THE 2ND STEP DESCRIBED BELOW, WHICH IS SUBMITTING THE APPLICATION VIA E-CONSULAR.
Click here to access the form. At the end, print the receipt generated by the system and sign in the appropriate field.
For filling instructions, click here.
THIS APPLICATION RECEIPT BELOW WILL NOT INITIATE YOUR PASSPORT RENEWAL REQUEST. IT IS NECESSARY TO SUBMIT IT VIA E-CONSULAR WITH THE RELEVANT DOCUMENTS.

2ND STEP: APPLICATION ON E-CONSULAR
On the e-consular system of the Consulate-General of Brazil in London, start a new service request and submit the documentation for analysis and validation by the Consulate:
Analysis can take up to 7 working days. The count for this period will restart from the date of each new submission by the applicant. For example, if your application is invalidated due to lack of correct documentation, the 7-working-day period will restart after the new submission of the application. If everything is correct, the applicant will receive an email with instructions to schedule their appointment at the Consulate.
3RD STEP: SCHEDULING ON THE E-CONSULAR SYSTEM
After your application is validated by the Consulate team, you will receive an email with instructions to schedule your appointment. Access the e-consular system and schedule your appointment for a date and time among those available on the system.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
- check that you have all the necessary documentation (click here to check if you have all the required documentation in order and if the necessary procedures have been carried out).
- validation of the application on the e-consular system does not guarantee the issuance of the passport. For this, it is necessary to present all the original documents attached on the e-consular system and for visual identification of the applicant to be possible at the time of the in-person appointment at the Consulate.
- if an appointment is made, but the applicant has already made a passport after turning 18, the passport will not be issued and it will be necessary to start a new application by post.
4TH STEP: PAYMENT OF THE CONSULAR FEE
Payment of the passport fee by debit card or postal order.
A postal order must be obtained in advance from any Post Office in the United Kingdom, for the amount of GBP 108.00. Postal orders are similar to cheques and must be made payable to the Consulate General of Brazil. The Post Office may charge additional fees. The postal order must be brought to the Consulate on the day of the in-person appointment, along with the rest of the required documentation.
Passport validity
The passport for adults (over 18 years of age) will be valid for 10 years.
