Justification for not voting

If the voter is already registered abroad:

Only their vote in the presidential elections, held every 4 years, needs to be justified. The justification must be done using the "e-título" app on their mobile phone.

If the voter is registered in Brazil:

A voter registered in Brazil who did not justify their absence can regularize their situation at the Consulate by requesting the transfer of their voter registration to London. The transfer will include a request for a waiver of fines for failure to vote.

A voter who wishes to justify their absence but does not want to transfer their registration, meaning they intend to continue voting in Brazil, must do so using the "e-título" app on their mobile phone or via the website of the Regional Electoral Court (TRE) in the state where their voter registration is recorded in Brazil.

Unexcused absence in three consecutive elections results in the cancellation of the voter registration card. Being in good standing with electoral obligations is necessary to obtain or regularize a CPF, take up public positions, enroll in Brazilian educational institutions, among other things.
