Earthquake in Türkiye

Brazil expresses its solidarity with the people and government of Türkiye following the earthquake on April 23, which was felt in Istanbul and left more than 150 people injured. Fortunately, no deaths were reported.

The earthquake had a magnitude of 6.2 on the Richter scale, with its epicenter in the Sea of Marmara.

No Brazilian nationals have been identified among the victims. The consular emergency lines of the Embassy of Brazil in Ankara (+90 533 424 04 29) and the Consulate General of Brazil in Istanbul (+90 554 834 59 52) remain available to assist Brazilian citizens in emergency situations, including through WhatsApp messages.
