Declaration of authorization for the travel of minors
GENERAL INFORMATION
The Declaration of Authorization for the Travel of Minors is intended for foreign parents who are not resident in Brazil, i.e. who do not hold a valid visa or RNM.
The Declaration of Authorization for Minor’s Travel Abroad may be issued as a substitute for the Authorization for Minor’s Travel (AVM), following the same rules applicable to the issuance of the AVM, except for the signature, which must necessarily be made in the presence of the Consular Authority. The signature will be verified for authenticity but will not be subject to notarization in the official consular system of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
The Declaration of Authorization for Minor’s Travel Abroad will also be issued through the official consular system of the MRE, free of charge, in two copies.
ATTENTION: Any document that does not allow full identification of the holder—whether due to being outdated, altered, or damaged—will not be accepted, and the request will be denied. The service is provided exclusively through in-person attendance.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION
- Passport that the minor will use for travel.
- A document proving minor’s nationality and parentage.
- A document proving the identity of the requesting parent or legal guardian. For foreign parents: Foreign passport.
