Work - Technology transfer (VITEM V – RN04)
a) General rules
- Based on Normative Resolution 04/2017 (Portuguese only).
- This type of visa may be issued exclusively to qualified foreign professionals required to provide technology transfer services to a company based in Brazil, with no employment relationship, by virtue of contract or agreement with the company.
- Technology Transfer Visas are subject to prior approval by the Brazilian Ministry of Justice and Public Security. The process must be initiated in Brazil, by the sponsoring company (on behalf of the applicant), with submission of the pertinent application and supporting documentation to that Ministry.
- Once the procedure in Brazil is concluded and approved, the Ministry of Justice and Public Security will transmit the authorisation to the Consulate via the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Only after the authorisation is received by the Consulate will the applicant be able to lodge the visa application itself.
b) Length of stay in Brazil
Validity period: limit date / deadline for the first entry in Brazil to take place – counted from the date of issue of the visa.
Up to 1 year.
Duration of stay: period during which the individual is allowed to remain in Brazil – counted from the date of first entry in the country.
Up to 1 year.
Extension of stay: non-extendable.

d) Lodging your application, processing times & visa collection
Visa applications must be submitted to our Visa Application Center, managed by the company called BLS. Please check the page "Applying for a visa in Guangzhou" for further information.

Must have at least two blank pages. Please note that pages reserved for amendments cannot be used for visa purposes. |

The photo must be recent, against white background, in the local standard specifications (3.5 x 4.5 cm). |

Police check |
Police checks are valid for up to 3 months from the date of issue. Please note: if the applicant has lived in multiple countries within the last 12 months, a police check from each country of residence must be provided. They must also be duly legalised (contain an apostille) by the competent authority in the issuing country and, if necessary, translated by a certified translator. |

Original full birth certificate |
In the absence of the full birth certificate, the applicant may submit another official document that contains the parents’ full names. Please note: if the document has been issued in a country other than China, it must be apostilled/legalised by the competent authorities of the country of issuance. |
