VIVIS - PAGE IN ENGLISH
THE PROCESSING TIME FOR PRINT VISA APPLICATIONS IS 10 BUSINESS DAYS, COUNTED FROM THE DATE OF DELIVERY OF ALL THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN PERSON, TO THE CONSULATE.
TO BE ALLOWED TO TRAVEL ON THE CHOSEN DATE, MAKE SURE YOU APPLY FOR THE VISA WELL IN ADVANCE, TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE TIME NEEDED TO PROCESS YOUR APPLICATION.
The traveler is the sole responsible for meeting the travel requirements to enter a foreign country on the scheduled date. There are no “urgent” or “express” visa applications in Brazilian Consulates.
A - What is the maximum stay in Brazil with this type of visa?
Up to 90 days.
B - What is it for?
Traveling to Brazil for tourism, business or transit, as long as your stay does not exceed the 90-day stay limit in Brazil.
C - Who is it for?
All foreigners who require a visa to travel to Brazil for stays of up to 90 days must apply for a Visit Visa (VIVIS).

D - What documents are required?
Documents you must upload with your visa application form:
I. Recent photograph, 3x4 cm or 5x7cm format, that meets ICAO requirements (check the requirements by clicking here). (Must be uploaded to the PHOTOGRAPH field on page 6 of the electronic visa application form);
II. Signature of the visa applicant, identical to the signature used by the applicant to sign their passport. (Must be uploaded to the SIGNATURE field on page 6 of the electronic visa application form);
III. Proof of payment of the visa processing fee (click here to learn how to make the payment). (Must be uploaded to the DIGITALIZED DOCUMENTS field on page 6 of the electronic visa application form);
IV. Scanned passport (all pages). (Must be attached to the DIGITALIZED DOCUMENTS field on page 6 of the electronic visa application form);
V. Proof of regular immigration status in the Argentine Republic: proof of the last entry transit into the Argentine Republic, DNI, o "precaria". (Must be attached to the DIGITALIZED DOCUMENTS field on page 6 of the electronic visa application form);
VI. Proof of financial capacity: Paycheck, bank account/virtual wallet statement, or credit card statement for the last 3 months, and/or proof of investments issued within the last 30 days. The autenticity of the proof of financial capacity issued abroad (i.e: by an institution based in a country other than Brasil or Argentina) must be verifiable online in order to be valid for the visa application (Must be attached to the DIGITALIZED DOCUMENTS field on page 6 of the electronic visa application form); and
The proof of financial capacity must include the name of the holder and be in one of the following languages: Portuguese, Spanish, or English. Documents in other languages require translation by an Argentine or Brazilian certified translator. If the proof of financial capacity is in the name of a relative (father, mother, son, daughter, or spouse of the applicant), please upload, to the visa application form, a document proving the relationship between the applicant and the holder of the proof of financial capacity (birth certificate or marriage certificate). At the discretion of the consular authority, under previous consultation, other documents may be accepted as proof of financial capacity.
Letters of Invitation or Commitment of Support signed in Brazil by relatives or friends must be presented along with proof of the signatory's financial capacity. These documents will be accepted only as additional proof of financial capacity and do not exempt the traveler from presenting their own proof of financial capacity. The signature of the Invitation Letter or Commitment to Support must be certified by a Brazilian public notary ("firma reconhecida em cartório").
VII. Authorization for Issuance of a Brazilian Visa for a Minor (click to access the form). If the applicant is under 18 years of age, both parents or guardian(s) must complete and sign the authorization form and the minor's visa application. The parents' signatures on the form must be certified by a notary and apostilled (click for more information), unless the form is signed in the presence of a Brazilian consular authority.
VIII. Apostilled Birth Certificate (click for more information), if the applicant is under 18 years of age.

ORIGINAL documents you must present when you come to the consulate for the interview:
I. "Recibo de Entrega de Requerimento - RER" (click to access a template), original, signed in the corresponding field, and with a photo affixed at the specified location;
II. Proof of payment of the visa processing fee, original;
III. Valid passport with at least two blank pages;
IV. Recent photo, compliant with ICAO standards, affixed to the RER;
V. Proof of regular migratory status in the Argentine Republic, as described on the section above;
VI. Proof of financial capacity, as described on the section above;
VII. Authorization for Issuance of a Brazilian Visa for minors, as described on the section above;
VIII. Apostilled Birth Certificate, as described on the section above.

E - What is the processing time for the application?
10 business days, counted from the date of delivery of the complete original documentation to the consulate at the interview.
F - How to apply for a visa VIVIS for tourism?

PRINT VISA (for citizens of ALL countries)
- Complete your information and upload the necessary documents to the electronic visa application form (available here). It is mandatory to upload all documents corresponding to your application for a Visit Visa (VIVIS);
- Print the receipt generated upon completion of the electronic visa application form ("Recibo de Entrega de Requerimento - RER", click to view a template), sign it, and add your photo (your signature and photo must also be uploaded to the electronic visa application form);
- Pay the processing fee (click to access the page with information on how to make the payment);
- Once all the documentation is complete, request an appointment for "VISA - Interview and documentation delivery", through the e-consular system (available here), and wait for the consular officer to validate your application. After validation, the applicant will receive a confirmation e-mail and will be allowed to choose date and time for their appointment. The validation takes up to three business days. ATTENTION! When validating appointment requests, we only verify that the requested documents were uploaded. The documentation will only be thoroughly analyzed to determine if the foreigner meets the visa requirements after the original documents are delivered, in person, at the interview.
- On the date and time chosen for your appointment, go to the consulate and deliver your "Recibo de Entrega de Requerimento - RER", proof of payment, and ALL the original documents corresponding to your application for a Visit Visa (VIVIS);
- After the interview, request an appointment for "VISA - Retirada / Pickup" through the e-consular system (available here). When the processing of your application is concluded, your appointment request will be validated, and you will receive a confirmation e-mail so you can choose a date and time to pick up your passport;
- Choose the date and time to pickup your passport and go to the consulate, on the date and time you selected.
E-VISA (only for citizens of Australia, Canada, and the United States of America)
Applications can be delivered through the website https://brazil.vfsevisa.com/.
Questions about e-visas should be sent to the contacts available at the website of the company in charge of receiving E-VISA applications: https://brazil.vfsevisa.com/contact-us.
Complaints about E-VISA can be filed by sending a message to Brazilevisa@vfsglobal.com with a copy to dim@itamaraty.gov.br. The message must contain the reference number of the application and screen captures that demonstrate responses are taking too long or not being received at all.
This Consulate General in Buenos Aires does not have access to E-VISA applications and is unable to provide information or assistance regarding E-VISA applications.
