The Nanostructured Materials for Bioapplications Group has a complete infrastructure for executing synthesis protocols for different nanostructured materials systems, as well as a multi-user equipment infrastructure for characterizing the different systems studied in the research. The main equipment available are:
- BET Surface Area Analyzer, Pore Size and Volume, Chemisorption and Physisorption TPR/TPD/TPO, model "Autosorb IQ-C" (Quantachrome Instruments);
- Fourrier Transform Infrared Spectrometry System - FTIR, model Nicolet 6700, (Thermo Electron Scientific);
- Ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV 2550 – Shimadzu);
- Thermal Analysis System composed of a TGA-DTG-60H Thermogravimetric Analyzer (Shimadzu) and a DSC-60 Differential Scanning Calorimeter (Shimadzu);
- CHNS/O Analyzer elemental analyzer (Perkin Elmer);
- Particle size analysis system by photon correlation spectroscopy by dynamic light scattering (DLS) and Zeta potential analysis by electrophoresis to evaluate surface charge (Zetasizer Nano ZS – Malvern).
- Heraeus Multifuge X1 high-speed benchtop centrifuge with different rotor and adapter capacities (Thermo Scientific).
