Waste Management Service - SEGRE

Purpose

Develop and disseminate methods for managing radioactive waste.

Basic duties

• Perform activities related to the management of radioactive waste at the CDTN;
• Develop processes and equipment for the treatment and storage of radioactive and conventional waste;
• Develop and qualify packaging for the transportation of radioactive materials and waste; perform activities related to the management of radioactive waste at the CDTN;
• Contribute to the development and implementation of the national policy on radioactive waste;
• Participate in national or international projects and working groups on radioactive waste management;
• Provide consultancy to radioactive and nuclear facilities on radiosanitary assessment, management of radioactive waste and waste, and decommissioning;
• Receive and store radioactive waste and disused radiation sources generated or received by the CDTN;
• Contribute to the training of human resources in its area of ​​activity;
• Ensure that the activities and facilities under their responsibility are executed and operated in accordance with the regulatory, safety, radiological protection and licensing requirements established.
