Purpose
To conduct research, development and innovation related to nuclear reactor technology, aiming to promote the sustainable use of nuclear energy.
Basic duties
- To develop and implement analytical methods for thermo-hydraulic and neutronic designs of systems and components of nuclear and radioactive installations;
- To develop and apply methods for analyzing accidents, operational transients, criticality and shielding of nuclear and radioactive installations;
- To develop techniques and methodologies for analyzing safety, risk and reliability applicable to the design and licensing of nuclear and radioactive installations;
- To simulate, design and implement experimental installations in the area of thermofluid dynamics;
- To plan, execute, simulate and analyze experimental investigations in the areas of thermofluid dynamics and neutronics;
- To develop and design devices for irradiating nuclear fuels;
- To develop, analyze and implement instrumentation and control systems and measurement techniques applicable to reactor technology;
- To contribute to the training of human resources in its area of activity;
- Ensure that the activities and facilities under their responsibility are executed and operated in accordance with the regulatory, safety, radiological protection and licensing requirements established;
- Participate in and provide technical support for the licensing of CDTN nuclear and radioactive facilities.
