Irradiation of inputs for the pharmaceutical industry and medicine prevents the reproduction of microorganisms in the irradiated material, such as bacteria or fungi. Gamma irradiation can be applied to a wide range of materials, with the aim of sterilizing a range of products for commercial purposes. Examples of this are disposable syringes, needles, catheters, gloves and surgical kits, sutures, implants, petri dishes, tweezers, reagents, cosmetics, medicinal extracts, among others.
