The Low Activity Radiochemistry Unit - URBA performs specific analytical services, contributes to the training of human resources and conducts research to develop methods in the area of radiochemistry. The main analytical services offered are:
- Tests for Determination of Total Alpha and Total Beta Activity in various environmental matrices and process waste;
- Tests for Determination of Specific Radionuclides Ra-226, Ra-228 and Pb-210 in various environmental matrices.
To this end, URBA has an α/β Counting System with Multiple Detectors (MDS-12 Systems, Protean Instrument Corporation - PIC).
