Strategic Minerals and Advanced Materials Service - SEMAV

Purpose

To support the development of scientific and technological skills in advanced materials and strategic minerals, aiming at adding value and technological consolidation in products and processes in synergy with the Brazilian technology-based production sector in order to increase the competitiveness of national products.

Basic duties

• To manage the Laboratory of Advanced Materials and Strategic Minerals;
• To develop R&D&I in the areas of advanced materials and strategic minerals.
• To manage material, financial and human resources for R&D&I activities, within the scope of projects related to advanced materials and strategic minerals;
• To manage the technical support infrastructure and support for R&D&I project activities related to advanced materials and strategic minerals;
• To continuously conduct technological prospecting studies, in consultation with the NIT, and to map the national “ecosystem” of advanced materials and strategic minerals;
• To seek and coordinate R&D&I partnerships with other public or private ICTs and technology companies;
• Develop and support research, development and technological innovation projects in order to encourage production and business chains;
• Encourage and promote the publication of scientific articles and submission of patent applications on topics related to advanced materials and strategic minerals;
• Encourage and support the training of human resources specialized in advanced materials and strategic minerals;
• Implement communication mechanisms with project participants and external partners and the productive sector.
