Gamma irradiation plays an important role in reducing food waste and reducing dependence on pesticides. Through this technology, food is exposed to a specific amount of radiation for a specific time. During irradiation, the energy passes through the food, eliminating microorganisms without damaging the nutritional qualities and delaying the sprouting, maturation and aging of food.
