Culture Climate
The Group of Friends for Culture-Based Climate Action (GFCBCA) is an informal international coalition of United Nations (UN) Member States and international organizations, aimed at generating political momentum for the recognition of culture as a unique and powerful force to address the effects of climate change.
History
The Group was launched during the 28th Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) on December 8, 2023.

How to Become a Member
Participation in GFCBCA is voluntary and open to two types of members:
- United Nations member countries (UNFCCC Parties), who have voting rights;
- International intergovernmental organizations, civil society organizations, who can participate as Observers and Knowledge Partners.
To become a member, it is necessary to send a formal letter to GFCBCA co-presidents, indicating interest and naming a focal point who will represent the country or organization in group activities. Membership is confirmed by co-presidents, who are also responsible for maintaining an updated member list.
