Ministry of Management establishes Flexible Team to assist in addressing the calamity in Rio Grande do Sul

The ordinance published by the ministry outlines how the team of civil servants will operate in response to the disaster.

The Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services (MGI) published this morning (May 10, 2024) Ordinance MGI No. 3,179, dated May 9, 2024, establishing a Flexible Team of civil servants to support the National Secretariat of Civil Protection and Defense (under the Ministry of Integration and Regional Development) in addressing the public calamity in the state of Rio Grande do Sul.

The team will be responsible for conducting technical analysis of requests for federal recognition of emergency situations and applications for federal disaster relief funds to support rescue operations and victim assistance.

Team Structure and Duration

• Composed of 13 civil servants (both men and women);
• Coordinated by the National Secretariat of Civil Protection and Defense;
• Minimum workload of 20 hours per week;
• Two-month assignment period.
