International Actions
The Special Advisory for International Affairs (AEAI) of the Ministry of Culture coordinates and promotes Brazil's qualified participation in global cultural agendas. Acting as a liaison between MinC and the international scene, AEAI organizes its actions based on a strategic plan validated for the 2024-2026 period, structured around five pillars: Brazil's presence in international forums; promotion of Brazilian culture abroad; strengthening of the cultural market and businesses; valorization and promotion of Afro-diasporic culture; and reinforcement of institutional capacities.
AEAI's mission is to consolidate culture as a strategic dimension of sustainable development, social inclusion, democracy, diversity, and innovation. In dialogue with multilateral organizations, regional forums, and bilateral partners, the advisory articulates Brazilian participation in decisive spaces, such as COP30, the G20 Culture, Mondiacult, UNESCO's General Conference, BRICS and Mercosur presidencies, as well as initiatives within the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP) and Ibero-American Programs, such as Ibercultura Viva and Ibermusic.
Among the priorities are structuring themes of global relevance, such as promotion of cultural diversity, multilingualism, and the Portuguese language; valorization and fair and adequate remuneration of artists, authors, and creators; Artificial Intelligence; promotion and strengthening of creative economies; promotion of the culture and climate change agenda; sustainable development; as well as return and restitution of cultural assets.
AEAI's work also encompasses mechanisms such as the ABCD Program (Support for Circulation and Internationalization of Brazilian Culture), the Cultural Promotion Mechanism, and the Culture-Climate Agenda, reinforcing culture's role as an agent promoting sustainable and inclusive development.
International actions are organized according to their importance, taking into account factors such as commitments assumed by the Brazilian Government and the Minister of Culture, participation in relevant international events, signing of agreements, and themes considered priorities for the cultural sector. For the 2025/2026 biennium, 154 international actions are planned, focusing on strategic deliveries, network strengthening, and promotion of Brazilian cultural presence abroad.
AEAI reaffirms culture's role as a vector for international projection, an instrument of cooperation between peoples, and a tool for building a more just, inclusive, democratic, and sustainable world.
