International Relations Coordination Office (Coint)
The International Relations Coordination Office (Coint) is part of the Presidency of the National Supply Company (Conab) and operates in initiatives involving partnerships with other countries. Coint’s mission is to support Brazil’s participation in international negotiations, aligning the country’s positions in multilateral, regional, and bilateral forums with the guidelines set by the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Family Farming (MDA) and by Conab itself.
Coint is responsible for coordinating the international agenda, including the reception of foreign delegations, as well as the negotiation, management, and monitoring of technical cooperation agreements in collaboration with the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC), which is linked to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE). Through Coint, Conab engages in bilateral cooperation and seeks partnerships with countries in Latin America, the Caribbean, and the African continent.
The office also works closely with international organizations and programmes such as the World Food Programme (WFP) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), both part of the United Nations (UN). In addition, it supports trilateral cooperation efforts with the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA).
Within the international scope of Conab’s work, Coint is further responsible for advising the Presidency and the Board of Directors; coordinating, analysing, and monitoring technical cooperation initiatives; managing matters arising from agreements signed by Conab or the Brazilian government that are related to Conab’s programmes; coordinating and facilitating visits by foreign delegations and participation in international events; and supporting the planning of international missions in cooperation with technical departments.
