Decree with no number of April 15, 1991 - Simplifies the referral of requests and documents to the bodies and entities of the Federal Public Administration.

Decree nº 4,062 of December 21, 2001 - Defines the expressions “cachaça”, “Brazil”, and “Brazilian cachaça” as geographic indications, among other provisions.

Decree nº 10,033 of October 1, 2019 - Enacts the Protocol regarding the Madrid Protocol on the Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Trademarks, adopted in Madrid, Spain, on June 27, 1989, the Common Regulations under the Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Trademarks and the Protocol related to the Agreement and the formulation of the declarations and notices specified therein.

Resolution nº 257 of March 9, 2020 - Revokes the provisions of INPI/PR Resolution nº 248/2019 of September 9, 2019, among other provisions.

2019

Resolution nº 249 of September 9, 2019 - Brings into effect the 3rd Edition of the Trademark Manual.

Resolution nº 248 of September 9, 2019 - Provides for the registration of a trademark in a multi-class system (with the wording amended by Resolution No. 257/2020).

Resolution PR nº 247 of September 9, 2019 - Provides for the registration of a trademark within the scope of the Madrid Protocol.

Resolution PR nº 245 of August 27, 2019 - Provides for the co-ownership of trademarks (with wording amended by Resolution No. 256/2020).

Resolution PR nº 244 of August 27, 2019 - Provides for the division of registrations and applications for trademark registrations (with wording amended by Resolution No. 258/2020).

Resolution nº 206 of December 20, 2017 - Optimizes the procedures for verification and requirement related to the provisions in articles 128, 216, and 217 of Law nº 9,279/1996.

Resolution nº 204 of December 7, 2017 - Establishes rules and procedures related to the refund of fees unduly paid to the National Institute of Industrial Property – INPI.

Resolution nº 194 of June 8, 2017 - Provides for the procedures for rehabilitation and recovery of records of proceedings that are missing, lost, incomplete, or destroyed.

Resolution nº 178 of January 27, 2017 - Regulates the procedures for return of term within the scope of the National Institute of Industrial Property – INPI.

Resolution nº 173 of November 29, 2016 - Provides for the enforcement of article 136 of Law nº 9,279 of May 14, 1996.

Resolution nº 172 of October 7, 2016 - Amends provisions of INPI/PR Resolution nº 107/2013, which establishes the manner of enforcement of article 125 of Law nº 9.279/1996.

Resolution nº 171 of September 29, 2016 - Provides for the Pilot Program of Management and Incentive to Productivity within the scope of the Office of Trademarks.

Resolution nº 166 of May 30, 2016 - Provides for the use of disclaimers in the registration of a trademark and revokes PR Resolution nº 161 of February 2, 2016.

Resolution nº 127 of March 6, 2014 - Provides for the adoption of the electronic form for trademark registration application specifying the goods and services with free filling out. 

Resolution nº 137 of September 15, 2014 - Provides for the issuance of digital certificates of trademark registration, signed through a certificate issued by a Certifying Authority, complying with the standard of the Brazilian Public Key Infrastructure – ICP-Brasil.

Resolution nº 142 of November 27,2014 - Provides for the creation of the Trademark Manual.

Resolution nº 22 of March 18, 2013 - Creates the Revista Eletrônica da Propriedade Industrial (INPI’s Electronic Gazette).

Resolution nº 25 of March 18, 2013 - Creates the electronic system for management of industrial property – e-INPI.

Resolution nº 26 of March 18, 2013 - Creates the module MARCAS in the Electronic System for Management of Industrial Property (e-Marcas), among other provisions.
